Dieter E. Popoff is past chairman of ICC Working Group D1, Shipboard Cables (formerly WG 9-1), and a member of the IEEE. He is also a member of the IEEE Standards Association, IEEE/IAS Marine Industry Committee, Canadian Standards Association, Underwriter's Laboratories Industry Advisory Group for Marine Shipboard Cable, and National Fire Protection Association.
Dieter is native of Germany; he received his BSEE from Findlay Engineering College and has done some graduate work at LSU-N.O. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Louisiana.
He has been employed as Division Plant Engineer by Chrysler Corporation and has been with his present employer, Marine Industrial Cable Corp., New Orleans, La., for 32 years, and is presently Vice President/Chief Engineer.
