Ray Walling


Reigh ("Ray") Walling received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1974 and 1979, respectively, and is a registered Professional Engineer. He is a Consulting Engineer at GE Power Systems Energy Consulting and is involved in a wide range of distribution and transmission technologies. Much of his work has centered on system overvoltages, transient performance, lightning protection, and the interaction of transformers with systems. He is presently Program Manager of the Distribution Systems Testing, Application, and Research (DSTAR) consortium of utilities.

He has authored a number of IEEE papers. In 1995, he received the IEEE Power Engineering Society Prize Paper Award.

Prior to joining GE in 1981, Mr. Walling was an engineer with Minnesota Power.
