Bob Gear, Chairman, USi, reported that the Accessories Subcommittee met on Wednesday, November 6, 1996 with 88 members and guests in attendance.
A new working group will be starting a “Guide to Select Terminations for Distribution Level Shielded Power Cables 5-46kV” at the Spring 1997 ICC meeting. Bob Fulcomer will be the chair. If you wish to participate in the activities of this working group, please contact: Bob Fulcomer, Plymouth Rubber Co., 104 Revere St., Canton, MA 02021, 617-828-0220 or plan to attend their first meeting.
A new discussion group will be starting on “Diagnostic Testing of Cable Joints and Terminations” at the Spring 97 Meeting.
Daniel Fournier, IREQ, presented a paper on “Effect of the Surface Roughness on Interfacial Breakdown Between Two Dielectric Surfaces” that is included as Appendix 10-C.
At the Spring 1996 ICC Meeting, Dr. E. Fred Steennis, KEMA, and Mr. Torben Aabo, Power Cable Consultants, made a presentation on “Very High Frequency Partial Discharge Detection in XLPE Cable Termination’s and Splices”. The presentation is included as Appendix 10-D.
