Design, construction application and operation of equipment, appurtenances and accessories used with insulated conductors; included are terminations, joints, filling compound, oil or gas pressurization systems, alarm systems, thermocouples, network limiters, and other devices required for operating insulated conductors.
The Accessories Subcommittee’s mission is to continuously improve the fundamental technological understanding, practical application, and safe use of accessories on conductors having applied insulation or coverings.

Bob Gear, Chairman, USi, reported that the Accessories Subcommittee met on Wednesday, April 8, 1998 with 96 members and guests in attendance.
Working Group minutes are reported on their respective Homepages. The following Special presentations were made:
Frank Frentzas, Commonwealth Edison, made a presentation on "Commonwealth Edison Co. 138 kV Transmission Retrofit Project" which is included as Appendix 10-H.
Rinus Brockmans, N.K.F Kabel, made a presented a paper on "HV-Accessories for Com Ed Retrofit Project". which is included as Appendix 10-I.
