The mission of Subcommittee No. 6 is to continually advance the knowledge of, to provide a discussion forum for, and to organize and coordinate working groups that develop guides and standards associated with sheaths and coverings for insulated conductors.
Scope:Chemical, electrical, and mechanical characteristics of sheathing, jacketing, and other materials for insulated conductors. Included are: lead and lead alloys; aluminum, copper; jacketing materials; protective coverings; metal-plastic laminate sheaths; armors; and performance in various environments.
