George S. Eager, Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 5, 1915.
Degrees: B.E. 1936. Dr. Engr. 1941, The Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Eager
passed away on February 1, 2012, in Upper Monclair, NJ. We was survived by
his wife Ruth, and three sons.
Following overseas service in the 1st Armored Division as a Signal Corps Officer during World War II, he was associated with General Cable Corporation Research Center in various assignments including Director of Research until 1980. In 1980, he became associated with Cable Technology Laboratories where he was President through 1995 and founded GRJ Consulting Services where he is President. Dr. Eager's special field is the design and evaluation of extruded and laminar dielectric high voltage power cables.
He was past Chairman of the Insulated Conductor Committee, IEEE Power Engineering Society; and of the Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomenon. He was the author of 30 technical papers and holds 20 U.S. patents in the field of underground power cables
