IEEE/PES Certificates of Appreciation

IEEE/PES Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the following outgoing Discussion Group Chairmen:

• John Smith III for Services Rendered as Chair, Discussion Group A6 Accelerated Electrical Aging
• Serge Pélissou for Services Rendered as Vice-Chair, Discussion Group A6 Accelerated Electrical Aging

IEEE/PES Technical Committee Prize Paper Award

Based on the evaluations carried out by our Subcommittee Chairmen, the best paper that was identified is entitled Reduced Insulation Thickness for Extruded Medium-Voltage Power Cable Systems - Cable Performance and First Network Applications. It was originally presented at the Fall 2001 Insulated Conductors Committee meeting in conjunction with the Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition.

The authors are Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Meurer and Dipl.-Ing. Michael Stürmer, both of Nexans Deutschland Industries in Germany. Because they were not able to attend this meeting, Lauri Hiivala will send the plaques to them.
