Hello ICC Members and Guests;
I am pleased to welcome you to 2022 and announce some upcoming plans for the Spring 2022 Insulated Conductors Committee. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the ICC’s outgoing chair, Henk Geene, for his leadership in navigating the ICC through a difficult period during the pandemic.
Bert Spear and I are looking forward to the next two years serving the ICC. Insulated conductors remain integral parts of utility and industrial AC power systems. Interests for land and submarine HVDC transmission and off-shore renewable energy are expanding. ICC will continue to provide an effective platform for all concerned parties to work together to shape the future of the power industry.
Spring Meeting – In Person!
We are excited to return to an in-person meeting for the first time since the Fall 2019. While there are some ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working with the host hotel and considering local and national health guidelines for travel, vaccination status and testing, and face masks. However, we fully expect to proceed with an in-person spring meeting scheduled 1-4 May 2022 at the Hilton Hotel in Anaheim, California (USA). Anaheim is fun area close to several dining and tourist attractions including being about 0.5 miles (3km) from DisneyLand. Returning to an in-person meeting is an important first step to continue the ICC’s standards development activities and resume participating in exciting presentations and networking opportunities.
Advance registration will open on Monday, 28-March-2022 and will close on Friday, 22-April-2022. In addition to minimizing time at the registration desk so that you can quickly start enjoying the meeting, there is a much lower cost for Advance Registration. The hotel room reservation link will be provided soon. Please check your e-mail regularly for updates.
While we are happy to return to in-person meetings, we anticipate that some activities will be modified from past in-person meetings including the manner in which food is provided, seating in some venues, and social functions. These details are being addressed as necessary.
Look for a Survey
The ICC will be distributing a survey about the upcoming meeting and other activities for ICC. This will help with planning the Spring 2022 meeting and other future meetings.

If you know of anyone that may be interested in the ICC’s activities, please encourage them to sign up at the ICC web page. Their e-mail addresses can be added to the distribution list so that they receive timely communications.
