An Invitation

Welcome to the Fall 2019 information page where you will find information to assist you in planning to attend the IEEE Power & Energy Society’s Insulated Conductors Committee (ICC) meeting to be held in Scottsdale, Arizona (U.S.A.) at the DoubleTree Paradise Valley Resort located in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area.  Phoenix and the surrounding area – referred to as the “Valley of the Sun” – includes Scottsdale and is home to a population of over 4 million.

Scottsdale is a developed area with many dinning and recreation options around the conference hotel, which is the reason we are going back.  This will be the sixth time holding the ICC in Scottsdale, and we are looking forward to taking advantage of the warm (…sometimes “very warm”) weather, diverse cultural experiences and interesting desert landscapes in and around the “The Valley”.

Registration for the Fall 2019 meeting will open on Monday, 16-September -2019.  Registration for the limited “Table Top” exhibit space will also open on 16-September-2019.  You will not be able to register for the meeting or reserve a Table Top prior to 16-September-2019, so do not call in advance regarding early registration as this is not available.  The number of Table Tops available is limited by the space that the hotel makes available to the ICC.

printable invitation is linked here for those that might need it for management, a travel visa or other purposes.  You can complete your personal details on the invitation.

Meeting Agenda

The agenda for the meeting is linked here. (updated 10-Oct-19).  This is the final agenda. Any last minute changes will be posted at registration.

In addition to the PDF agenda, the ICC is using a smartphone/tablet schedule based on the guidebook.com platform.  Guidebook can be downloaded from the “app store” on most smartphones, or by scanning the QR code below.  Then you can easily add our meeting by searching on “ICC” within the app.

Red Line buses join the airport with points north, east and west. Importantly, westbound buses go to downtown Phoenix, the Metrocenter mall in north Phoenix, and many other locations. Buses also stop at the Greyhound Bus Terminal.

Each terminal has stops for the bus: look for the sign ‘City Bus Stop’.

Eastbound buses stop on the north sides of Terminal 4 and Terminal 3 and on the west side of Terminal 2.

Westbound buses stop on the south sides of Terminal 4 and Terminal 3. However, they do not stop at Terminal 2: passengers need to catch an eastbound bus from Terminal 2 and change at Terminal 3.

Route 13 runs east across town to Lower Buckeye Road and does stop at the Greyhound Terminal.
