An Invitation
We are excited to welcome you again to the IEEE Power & Energy Society’s Insulated Conductors Committee (ICC) meeting in New Orleans , Louisiana at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Hotel. Perfectly located in Downtown New Orleans, the hotel is surrounded with many interesting attractions: step just outside to the Caesars Superdome and Smoothie King Arena for sports or Champions Square for special events, walk to the Arts District or to Bourbon Street. You can also hop a streetcar to the enchanting Garden District.
You are encouraged to reserve your room promptly and use the link available in the “Hotel Information” Section below to obtain a discounted rate. Please note, the hotel will close the reservation link prior to the meeting.
Advance registration for the Fall 2023 meeting will open on Monday, 25-September-2023 and will close on Friday, 20-October-2023. In addition to minimizing time at the registration desk so you can quickly start enjoying the meeting, there is a much lower cost for Advance Registration. Registration for the limited “Tabletop” exhibit space will also open on 25-September-2023. No early registration prior to the opening date will be permitted. As we are getting closer to the meeting dates, more information will be posted. Please check the ICC website often for updates. We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans.

Presentations and Educational Program

Attention Presenters: Guidelines for Presentation Material Published in PES – ICC Minutes
The theme of the Fall 2023 Educational Program is “US Utilities T&D Actual Project Reviews”.
The upcoming Fall 2023 Education Session will present actual project cases from several US utilities covering design, installation, failure repair, and analysis of various T&D cable systems. The session will be interesting for cable system suppliers, contractors, designers, and consultants, and will help to better understand customer needs. Experienced US utility engineers will share their knowledge and experience, solving various problems that occurred during actual cable installation projects and failure repairs. A Q&A session with our panelists will be included.
Join us for an enlightening afternoon at the Hyatt Regency hotel, New Orleans on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, 1:00-5:00 pm.

Registration
Advance Registration (online) will open before the meeting.

In order to obtain the “advance registration” discounted registration cost, you must pre-pay using a credit card before Advance Registration closes. Otherwise, you will pay the onsite registration cost.
We encourage you to register on-line even if you do not plan to pay with a credit card. The option to register and mail a check or to pay on-site with cash or check is also available with on-line registration.
Online meeting registration can be used by everyone, both members and guests, and will speed registration for everyone. Pre-registration will save you time and hassle when you arrive, as your name tag will be ready and waiting for you.
Effective with the Fall 2018 Meeting, advance payment will be required to get the advance registration rate. Advance payment can be made by Credit Card through the registration system, or by mailing a check to the Membership Secretary.

Mini-Expo
This meeting will feature a Mini-Expo for vendors to make table top displays of equipment and services related to the scope of the ICC. You can sign up for a table top display using the meeting Registration form. A list of exhibitors can be found here.

New Member Orientation
First Meeting? Want to know more about the ICC? Please attend the Orientation Session on Sunday afternoon. There are many different sessions at ICC meetings and they cover a multitude of subjects related to insulated conductors. Information presented at Orientation will help you find the sessions that are of most interest to you.

Spouse Activities
Spouse/Guest Breakfast – As always, if your spouse or guest would like to be included in the daily breakfasts from 8:00 – 9:30 AM, please be sure to register them by selecting “Companion Registration” during the registration process. (The cost is $150 and includes breakfast on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.)
A meeting room will be available for spouse/guest activities and group organization within the hotel each day.

The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is about 0.3 miles from the Union Passenger Terminal (Amtrak), about 3 miles from the Port of New Orleans, and 15 miles from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).
The MSY Airport’s central location offers easy access to I-10 and is located only a short drive from Downtown New Orleans, the French Quarter, and the Central Business District.
