Meeting Update April 2, 2021
Hello ICC Members and Guests;
As was recently announced, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to cancel the Spring 2021 meeting in Denver. We are planning to return to Denver for the Spring 2023 meeting.
However, to help us reconnect, the Insulated Conductors Committee is planning an informational session where we will communicate the latest news about the Insulated Conductors Committee including details about personnel, awards, future meetings, and reports from each of the subcommittees. A tentative outline for the session is as follows:
ICC SPRING 2021 E-Session Agenda 21-April-2021
▪ Opening Remarks
▪ Introduction to ICC Personnel and Recent Changes
▪ Awards
▪ Update on Policies and Procedures
▪ Future Meetings
▪ Subcommittee Reports (Sub A, B, C, D, F, G)
▪ Questions & Answers (via chat)
▪ Closing Remarks
This session of the ICC is being provided free of charge (no registration fee).
The web session will be held on Wednesday, 21-April-2021 for 10:00am-12:00pmET
I hope you will be able to participate in the meeting. Please share this message with others and encourage your associates to sign up for future communications at the ICC website [Link Here].
As the worldwide pandemic situation seems to be improving and vaccines are becoming more widely available, we are planning to hold an in-person Fall 2021 meeting where we hope to return to a favorable location. Further details will be communicated during the E-Session.
I look forward to visiting with you during the ICC E-Session where we will attempt to also address questions using the chat function of the web meeting.
Regards,
Henk Geene
Chair (2020-2021)

Meeting Update March 16, 2021
As we all know and experienced in our daily life, the COVID-19 global pandemic has continued to affect various meetings and events. The Spring and Fall 2020 meetings were already cancelled due to COVID-19, and we again have to make the difficult choice to cancel the Spring 2021 meeting due to the ongoing pandemic. Our meeting had been scheduled for Denver, Colorado, but the restrictions set by the Health Authorities do not allow large gatherings. For the safety of our group, this is the best path forward.
Our current plan is to return to Denver in Spring 2023.
Hopefully the situation will improve in the coming month as a result of the vaccination, so we hope to hold our next (147th) meeting in October 2021. Due to the uncertainty of the current situation we haven’t booked a hotel yet, nor fixed the dates, but we will keep you informed.
Despite not having an in-person meeting, working groups are encouraged to keep meeting (web, teleconference, etc) and making progress on standards development, especially with respect to standards with expiring PARs.
Interest in an Online Session?
In the near future, we will distribute a survey to evaluate if there is interest in holding an online session this spring where presentations can be given, either “live” or as prerecorded sessions.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during these difficult times and hope that you are remaining safe and healthy.
Meeting Agenda
The agenda for the meeting will be linked here. We aim to have the initial agenda posted no later than 8 weeks before the meeting. Please keep checking back for updates as we get closer to the meeting.
In addition to the PDF agenda, the ICC is using a smartphone/tablet schedule based on the Guidebook platform.
Presentations and Educational Program
The Subcommittees will sponsor many Technical Presentations on key topics in their fields of interest. Abstracts of those presentations can be found here.
Attention Presenters: Guidelines for Presentation Material Published in PES – ICC Minutes
The theme of the Spring 2021 Educational Program is TBA. Abstracts of the presentations will be found here.
0.4 IEEE CEUs will be offered for this session. You must register in order to receive CEUs.
Registration
Advance Registration (online) will open before the meeting.
A spreadsheet will be posted here to calculate approximate meeting and registration costs.
In order to obtain the “advance registration” discounted registration cost, you must pre-pay using a credit card before Advance Registration closes. Otherwise, you will pay the onsite registration cost.
We encourage you to register on-line even if you do not plan to pay with a credit card. The option to register and mail a check or to pay on-site with cash or check is also available with on-line registration.
Online meeting registration can be used by everyone, both members and guests, and will speed registration for everyone. Pre-registration will save you time and hassle when you arrive, as your name tag will be ready and waiting for you.
Effective with the Fall 2018 Meeting, advance payment will be required to get the advance registration rate. Advance payment can be made by Credit Card through the registration system, or by mailing a check to the Membership Secretary.
Please note our new policy on refunds.
For those that cannot register online for any reason, an offline registration form will be posted.
