Mr. J.H. Cooper, (Power Delivery Consultants, Inc.) Chairman of Subcommittee 3, reported that Cable Characteristics Subcommittee met on Wednesday, November 5, 1997 with 78 members and guests in attendance.
Task Group Chairmen gave the following written reports for their group’s activities.
After the task group reports were given Dr. George J. Anders of Ontario Hydro Technologies gave a presentation titled "Cable Crossings - Derating Considerations". This presentation summaries calculation procedures that were developed by Dr. Anders to quantify mutual heating that occurs when a cable circuit is crossed at an angle by a heat source such as another cable system or a steam main. A copy of the material that was presented can be found in the Appendix of Subcommittee 3.
