Greg Mastoras is developing a design guide for layout of cables in manholes.

The proposed guide will address:

• Factors that affect internal manhole dimension, such as number and size of cables
• Movement of paper insulated lead covered cables and extruded dielectric cable caused by load cycling
• NESC minimum clearance requirements
• Types of manholes - 2-way, 3-way, etc.
