- Chairman Rick Hartlein extends a warm
invitation to members, guests and spouses to join him at the Don Cesar for the Fall
1999 ICC meeting.
- ICC/CIGRE Colloquim
- The final schedule of activities
for the ICC/CIGRE Colloquium to be held on Sunday October 31st is now available in the
updated letter from ICC
Chairman Rick Hartlein. The ICC co-chairs for the three
joint colloquim sessions could use additional input/presentations from ICC members.
Interested parties should review the list of topics and contact one of the chairmen listed at the bottom of the Colloquim agenda.

- Meeting Agenda
- The PRELIMARY
agenda for the Fall meeting has been posted. It WILL change as the meeting approaches, so
check back here often. To speed your download time, we've broken the agenda into four
sections: Saturday/Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday. In
addition to the Colloquim mentioned above, our traditional Sunday night open reception
will be a bit unusual this year. Sunday night is the 31st of October, Halloween
in the US. Chairman Hartlein has a scary proposal to make this a
special evening. We now have a few pictures from the costume
party, thnaks to Jim Medek. If you took pictures and would like to add to this dobious
collection, send them to k.w.brown@ieee.org and
he'll post them.

- As always, we will have an All Chairs Meeting on Monday morning
at 7 am. We'll have a special speaker this year, Susan Tatiner, IEEE
Director of Standards Publishing Programs will talk to us about hints and tools for
effectively leading a working group. She will help all of us better understand techniques
for keeping a working group on track and she will review the tools available from IEEE to
facilitate the process
- Technical Presentations
- The Subcommittees will sponsor many Technical
Presentations on key topics in their fields of interest. Check the listing
periodically, as we'll be adding many topics as the meeting approaches. If you plan to
make presentation (especially if its a computer based presentation), be
sure and check the Presentation Guidelines page.
- Registration
- Pre-register and save some
money and the hassle of standing in line.
- Education Program
- Design Principles for Cable Accessories
(Separable Connnectors, Joints and Terminations)
- New Member Orientation
- Past Chairman Matt Mashikian will host a one hour session to introduce
you to the ICC, its activities and its Officers. Plan now to attend. To get a head start,
take a look at his on-line
presentation.
- Spouse Activities
- Marjorie Hartlein has arranged for a visit
to a great aquarium excursions, a beautiful restaurant and some stress relief while we
contemplate the finer points of the definition of TR-XLPE.

airport is about $30 one way.

- As in previous years, the ICC meeting will be held at the Don CeSar. We
have negotiated special rates for ICC members and guests and hope to see you there.

the cost is $6.00/day. A shuttle will run between the Tradewinds and the Don CeSar for
those not staying at the Don.
