It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of longtime ICC member and IEEE Fellow Bob Eichorn, who passed away on November 23, 2016. An obituary can be found here.
There are two social events on Sunday afternoon , October 30, before the main reception, both will be held at the "Palm Patio" from 4-5 PM. The International/Diversity Social for ICC Members and Guests looks to provide a forum for ICC attendees from different countries to network, learn more about the ICC and seek help. The Social for ICC Women Engineers seeks to provide a forum for mutual introductions and networking with other women engineers. The chairs of both events hope to see you there!
Due to some room changes by the hotel, and update to the final agenda for the Fall 2016 Meeting has been posted here. Also, there will be a Subcommittee C Ad-Hoc committee on issues related to the seismic performance of transmission cable systems. Several presentations are scheduled as well as an update on the status of IEEE 693.

We are also starting to get details of the various subcommittee agenda's for the Spring Meeting, including Sub A - Cable Construction and Design, Sub G - Transnational Luncheon and the Educational Program on the subject "Partial Discharge - The Basics and the Big Questions". Working Group C11 on Submarine Cables has also posted details of their meeting.
With the new year, there were also changes in a number of Subcommittee positions. Sub B has rotated offices, with Stan Szyszko moving up to Chair, and Tom Campbell becoming Vice Chair. At the Educational Session, Rachel Mosier has moved up to Chair. Two new positions within the Administrative Committee have also been Filled. Past Chair John Smith has agreed to serve in a new role of Minutes Publication Coordinator. And we now have an Assistant Webmaster, Tina Carson. Remember to welcome all these new (or new role) officers when you see them!

Some additional details as well as a link for hotel registration has been added to the Spring Meeting page. Note that rooms in the group will have the resort fee waived, as well as a discount on valet parking. Note that this hotel does not have a self parking option.
With a new year, we have a transition of officers within the ICC. Thomas Champion has finished his term as Chair, and has been replaced by Frank Frentzas. The Vice Chair/Treasurer position has been filled by Rusty Bascom. Welcome to our new leadership!
